Editorial Policy

Evidence before excitement.

How SceneTrail Japan researches, labels, edits and updates English travel content.

Source hierarchy

We prioritize municipalities, official tourism organizations, transport operators, museums, cultural institutions and rights holders. Reliable secondary sources may add context, but they do not override the responsible organization on changing visitor information.

Evidence labels

Officially confirmed means a responsible organization documents the relationship. Strongly associated means multiple reliable sources support it without an official designation. Community-reported or unverified claims remain clearly labeled and are never upgraded through repetition.

Original English, not copied translation

We synthesize facts into original English for international travelers. We do not reproduce Japanese articles, promotional copy, copyrighted scenes, character art or long quotations.

Authorship and updates

The SceneTrail Japan Editorial Team is responsible for publication. Updated dates change only when content, sources or presentation have been materially reviewed. Corrections remain separate from sponsorship or commercial discussions.

Use of automation and AI

Automation may assist with structure, consistency checks, link validation and production. AI-assisted drafts are not treated as sources. Factual claims must trace back to the listed evidence, and publication responsibility remains with the editorial team.

Commercial independence

Sponsorship, affiliate participation or paid production can never purchase inclusion, a stronger evidence label or a favorable factual conclusion. Commercial links must be marked where they appear.
